1980  Chris Impinna, D.V.M. ’84, was chosen as the new director of the veterinary technology program at Cosumnes River College in Sacramento.    Marilyn Mc-Entyre, M.A., has completed another book of poems, The Light at the Edge (Fithian Press). McEntyre is a professor of English at Westmont College in Santa Barbara.

1981  Pete Grossgart was named vice president of sales for Marine Terminals Corp., an Oakland-based stevedore and marine terminal operator.

1982  Nanette Kuswa, D.V.M. ’87, is a veterinarian at Companion Animal Center in Visalia and serves on the board of directors of the Valley Oak Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Through these dual roles, Kuswa has devoted her life to advancing animal rights, promoting spay and neuter programs as well as finding homes for stray animals.

1983  Rich Collins owns California Vegetable Specialties, a farming company that specializes in endive—a leafy vegetable grown in darkened chambers from chicory roots and used in salads and hors d’oeuvres. The company annually produces over 30 million heads of the increasingly popular vegetable.    James Meehan was promoted in May to the position of senior deputy district attorney for Alameda County. Meehan has served as a deputy district attorney since 1986 and specializes in death-penalty prosecutions.

1984  Jim Deline, Ph.D. ’89, recently moved from California to New Jersey to work for the Atlantic City office of Battelle Memorial Institute as a principal research scientist. He was joined by his wife, Avery, and his two sons, Sean, 14, and Brendan, 12. Deline is currently a Battelle contractor for the Department of Homeland Security, Science & Technology Directorate, at the Federal Aviation Administration technical center located onsite at the Atlantic City International Airport.    Joan Haratani, J.D., was named president of the Bar Association of San Francisco, becoming the first Asian American woman to hold the position. A partner at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, Haratani said in her acceptance speech that she’ll work to increase diversity in her field and create more opportunities for lawyers with families.

1985  Margaret D’Arrigo-Martin was the featured speaker at the 2006 Reception Honoring Women in Produce during the United Produce Show in May in Chicago. A veteran of 20 years in the industry, D’Arrigo-Martin serves as the executive vice president of sales and marketing for Salinas-based D’Arrigo Bros. Co. She launched her family business’s first marketing department in 1994.    Irma Rodriguez was named 8th Assembly District 2006 Woman of the Year by Assemblywoman Lois Wolk, D-Davis. Rodriguez is the deputy director of clinical programs for Yolo County Department of Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Services, and a member of the First 5 Yolo Children and Families Commission. She also teaches early childhood development at UC Davis Extension.
